We are seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Consultant with 8 years of relevant Environmental & Sustainability Consulting experience, of which preferably three years in the UAE or the wider GCC, to join our newly established Environmental & Sustainability and Consulting department. As a Senior Environmental & Sustainability Consultant, you will be responsible for driving our Environmental and Sustainability business, providing expert advice and guidance to a range of clients on environmental and sustainability issues, conducting environmental permitting studies and audits, and delivering training on ESG-related topics. This role will also offer a valuable learning experience as you will work closely with our highly experienced Global ESG experts and subject matter experts who contribute to our projects on an ad hoc basis.
You should possess in-depth knowledge of environmental & Sustainability regulations in the UAE and wider Middle East region, sustainability practices, and industry best practices. This expertise will be instrumental in assisting our clients in achieving their environmental and sustainability goals.
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Assisting Company Management in establishing Environmental and Sustainability service lines.
- Providing assistance in business development, generating inquiries, and developing proposals.
- Providing expert environmental and sustainability consulting services to clients, including supporting the delivery of environmental & Sustainability permitting studies such as environmental impact assessments, preliminary environmental reviews, construction and operation environmental management plans, etc., as well as sustainability studies, environmental audits, ESG training, assurance, and compliance evaluation projects.
- Supporting the delivery of audit and training contracts in the UAE and wider GCC region.
- Advising clients on environmental & Sustainability- regulations, permits, and compliance requirements at the local, regional, and national levels.
- Conducting site inspections and monitoring environmental performance to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborating with our Global ESG and environmental teams located outside the UAE to ensure comprehensive and effective environmental solutions for our clients.
- With the help of our Global experts, assist clients in developing sustainability initiatives and integrating environmentally friendly practices into their businesses.
- Interacting with our existing and potential clients, as well as Company Management, to establish environmental and sustainability consulting relationships.
- Conducting thorough research and analysis to support environmental and sustainability projects, and providing accurate and timely reports to clients. This also includes staying up to date with environmental regulations, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to environmental developments in the region.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, MBA in Sustainability, Energy Studies, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Subject matter expert, professional certifications, or similar, a plus.
- 8 years of experience in environmental consulting, of which preferably three years in the UAE and involved in a diverse range of projects and industries.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permitting processes in the UAE. This includes experience in conducting environmental permitting studies, audits, and compliance evaluations projects in the UAE.
- Familiarity with the ESG and sustainability practices.
- Experience in business development and client interactions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey and communicate properly to clients and regulators.
